Johnson was livid after the race, as he wasted little time in approaching Busch's window after climbing out of his car. The two champions engaged in a heated and animated yelling match before Johnson finally stormed off.
Here are some of the quotes from both parties:
Johnson: "I could have run into him, I could have moved him a lot of different ways to get that position, but I didn't. I went down there and passed him and off of (turn 2), he ran me up into the wall, or tried to, and I held my ground so I wouldn't get smashed into the fence...He's a big crybaby and wants to take shots at me when he can. He's good for running his mouth. He can keep running it, I'll shut it for him."
Kurt Busch: "Man, I raced him hard. I raced him smart. I raced him clean and he wants to come over here and bitch about it. Hey, he comes off the turn and jabs me left. I did a jab back to the right. It's as clean as I've ever seen it. Why can't we race each other like this and put on a show for the fans and not have a problem with it? I don't know."
Difference of opinions is putting it mildly. As I further analyzed their confrontation, I just cannot see where Kurt Busch was in the wrong. Now, Johnson did come down on Busch first. Busch took exception to it, but did not go overboard and put the No. 48 in the fence. Johnson again came down on Busch.
Either Johnson got loose and came down on Busch unintentionally, and really does not believe that he took a swipe, or he is in complete denial. If it was unintentional, he should have told Busch that instead of biting his head off. But, considering the less than amicable past the two drivers have shared, it is easy to see why they would jump to conclusions.
This is a true rivalry, ranking up there with Kyle Busch/Kevin Harvick, Ryan Newman/Juan Pablo Montoya, and Kyle Busch/Brad Keselowski.

I agree 100% !! I guess the great ans honorable "5 time" thinks he does nothing wrong. I may be a Kurt Busch fan now......no, that will never happen.
About time someone started racing the 48 VERY hard. Too many times it seems like competitors give him room that they don't give others.
didn't you get the memo? no one is allowed to race the great and wonderful (at least in his own mind) Johnson!
The 48 never gives anyone any room, but all the other competitors are supposed to roll over and play did.
Not a KuBu fan, but I was glad to see he didn't do that. Here's hoping that people figure out there is a way to get inside Weasley's head.
If JJ got loose he would have slid up the corner not down the track. He came down on KB ,and he got it back with interest. He was and is frustrated with this year. He has one win. On a plate track with 88 pushing five time. I hope he has more frustration, and things don't just fall in place. I hope this incident gives him something to think about!
It is soooooo clear he came down the track on him. I yelled at the TV when it happened. I am a Kurt Busch fan and I hate Jimmie Johnson. He is the Anti-Curtice Turner. Curtice was the greatest by the way. Jimmie gets out of the car and hugs his plastic wife, at least Gordon dated a few strippers after the divorce. Hopefully Kurt will show up with a few flooseys now that he is single. I mean, these guys make millions driving stock cars, why can't they act like it!
Are you folks on the jealous bandwagon? Seriously? You saw a little rub from Johnson, who was loose, as compared to an outright emotional slam from Busch, who is only "out whined" by his younger, more talented brother. How can you take his success of as a 5-time champion and make that into a sordid nickname? Did he cry and/or compain his way to 5 titles? Did he pose in a magazine to win 5 titles? Or did he keep his nose clean and work hard for those 5 titles. Maybe we should go back about a month to the football player that questioned his abilities and see where that got him...
Kurt Busch sucks!!!! he blocked jimmie for 10 laps before anything happened.Kurt raced him harder than anyone else that was going to by him like he was sitting still.Everyone tries to race Jimmie harder than they do everyone else because they know if he gets by they will never get that position back again. I knew in 2001 that he was what he is today a champion!!!!Alot of people didn't even know who he was, but I knew he had more talent than anyone eles which is why I picked him rather than one of the other losers you see today. I was a E- Senior fan during the ninety's and never even considered being a junior fan because he's a trader and failure of his fathers wish for him to run the senior business. Kurt Busch got lucky one year and won a championship that if Nascar would've went back and recounted the points Jimmie won that championship. Jimmie has had about 5+races this year that he had the race won and Nascar makes up penalties,throws fake cautions, and counts caution laps as green flags laps which ultimately gives the race at most tracks to someone in the lead or maybe 2nd but not very often anymore do they come from 4th or 5th because the laps have been ground off. There have been debri cautions this year with no debry more than any year in the past. Nascar is trying to help the rest of the field be as good as Jimmie but the way their doing it is wrong. Right now without Nascars help this year would be no different than the last five. Not that this year is. This year the team is just having to listen to the negative motivation that the speed media and most of the television crews are dishing out to help the other drivers and their fans change their opinion of Jimmie. If somebody wants to talk about Jimmies wife she's the only one in the pits that isn't a whore have you even seen Kurt Buschs' what ever you want to call it. Please your all just haters just because you picked the wrong driver to watch it isn't Jimmies fault you don't know how to spot talent when you see it. I haven't missed a lap since 1988.
It's sad that J.J. better known as "THE DOMINATOR " around our town is having to put up with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. We all saw that kyle was sooo WORRIED about the 48, that at the restart when they went three wide he ran J.J. to the BOTTOM. That's how Brad got in the lead. Other wises THE DOMINATOR would have flew right past the both of them. CHECK YOUR DVR!!!!!!!!!!!

Cut the crap! Us Texans love our sports and sports stars. JJ is the real deal. He is not a Texan but mighty close to being one. His creditials are impeccable. So he doesn't do the bar and chase deal. Hugs his "Plastic wife"? How many of you real men would give anything to swap places with him?
I am not a Jimmy Chad fan. Not a real big Kurt Busch fan, until lately. Its abut time someone showed (5-time) he"s not God, and really not anything without his marriage to Chad seems to me thiers something deterating on there wedding cake. I am although a Dale Jr fan. I think he was used to give Jimmy his 1 and only win at Talledeaga because Chad knew his driver didnt have a chance (In He--) of winning without using Jr. Let me ask you one question Resrictor plate races are control by draft to gain the lead, Jimmy says he he couldnt keep up with Jrs car so he needed Jr to push him to the finish and he could go to the winners circle and Jr could stand there like a bumb-a-- holding the checkerd flag. Lets see if Dale Jr gets the same from 5 time at Talledeaga this fall, This is my comment it should be yours. As far as the Kurt and Jimmy fued go kurt!!!
