Some media members and fans actually believed it. Busch may be a little kinder and gentler than when he was several years ago, that comes with age, but he has not completely transformed. That was apparent on Saturday night.
I fully understand why Kyle Busch was ticked with Harvick. Harvick wrecked him at Homestead, and then gave him a few nudges at Darlington. Busch felt as if he owed Harvick. However, Busch hooked Harvick in front of a large portion of the field following the yellow flag. It could have turned out much worse for several drivers that should not be involved in this rift. It did not, and all was well.
That was until Busch tried to run away and hide from his foe. If you are going to hook someone with four laps to go, especially someone with Harvick's persona, you have to be ready for a post-race confrontation. Instead, Busch parked his car behind Harvick. As Harvick emerged from his Chevrolet, Busch mashed the gas, turned Harvick's car into the inside pit road wall. Meanwhile, Harvick attempted to throw a punch.
"My choices were limited. I was either going to get punched in the face and then wait for Harvick to get back in his car, or just drive through his car and push it out of the way so I could get out of there," said Busch.
Busch destroyed his reverse gear, so in order to flee the scene, he had to shove Harvick's car out of the way. He seemed to be more concerned about his safety rather than the safety of others on pit road. What if Harvick threw a few punches, Busch was still wearing his helmet. This had the potential for disaster had Harvick's car struck an innocent person on pit road.
I am not trying to bash Busch, but he sure did not mind confronting other drivers in the past, such as Brian Vickers and Steve Wallace. Why could he not be on the other end of an angry driver's wrath? If you are going to hook someone, no matter if it is justified or not, at least be man enough to face them after the race instead of putting others at risk.

It wasn't going to be just Busch/Harvick but Busch and Harvick with his crew. That's about 9 to 1. I think a lot of people who say he should have gotten out and fought that crew have never been in a fight since second grade.
What would you be saying today if Kyle had been hurt enough to miss a race. Or what if Kyle had the training my late brother had and Harvick and all his crewmen had been sent to the hospital (yes I saw my brother send 8 people to the hospital when he was attacked).
The fact is that Kyle did the smart thing. And by waiting till his back up arrived Harvick once again proved that he is basically a punk (remember how JPM pushed him around at Watkins Glenn)
He wasnt waiting for his crew he put his steering wheel back on to leave until busch started hitting the back of his car on pit road, at which time he exited the car to confront him.
Hey moron, get your eyes checked and your facts straight. Kyle never once nudged Harvicks car until Harvick was almost to his window. Its morons like you that only see what you want to see that propel incidents like this to new heights. In all of the articles Ive read and all the stories on TV ive seen, you are the only one to point out that Kyle hit Harvick's car on pit road. Im sure out of all the journalists, all the pundits, all the specatators, all the millions watching on TV, you were the ONLY one to catch that. Thats pretty amazing my friend. And come on, if Harvick was really a man he would have dropped the gloves and the helmet. Approaching someone with a helmet on and 8 of your buddies on the way isnt being a badass, its being an idiot. They both need to let this pass or it could ruin both their shots at the championship.
